Pocketbook users now enjoy listening to books read out loud by ReadSpeaker’s 94 lifelike voices, in 30+ languages with release update 6.4.
PocketBook (opens in a new tab), the third largest global manufacturer of premium e-readers based on E Ink (opens in a new tab) technology, have enhanced their user experience even further with the release of update version 6.4, which enables users to read and listen to books read out loud by 94 lifelike voices, in over 30 languages.
The first models to offer the new voices are PocketBook InkPad 3 Pro and PocketBook Touch HD 3. However, the update will soon be available on all other devices with audio support, including, PocketBook InkPad 3, PocketBook InkPad X, PocketBook Color, and PocketBook InkPad Color.
Moreover, the update brings long-awaited voices in native languages to PocketBook users in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Pocketbook has chosen ReadSpeaker’s text-to-speech (TTS) voices, which can read any text out loud, for an experience that is as close to a human voice talent as possible. Users simply select the voice option in their e-book’s TTS menu to have written content read out loud to them.
ReadSpeaker’s state-of-the-art TTS voices are so lifelike they can read text aloud like regular audiobooks. However, unlike audiobooks, text to speech is always ready to allow e-reader users to hear any text-based content in a matter of seconds. In other words, users always have an audio version of any book at their fingertips.
They can simply install the new firmware version 6.4 on their PocketBook e-reader. The new voices will be available once the update has been downloaded. And from now on, all new PocketBook devices will automatically receive the new voices.
To enjoy the freedom of reading and listening to an unlimited choice of books, owners of PocketBook devices with audio support simply need to check their updates and remember to install firmware version 6.4 when it becomes available for their model.
